The 5th Lake Eildon Challenge will be on Saturday April 7th 2018. Enter now as your summer goal, go solo if you’re strong or find some team mates if you want to share the fun around, either way it’s a great day out getting around the lake by bike, kayak and foot.
It’s a long multi-sport challenge but very achievable with regular training. The key is to have good bike fitness for the hilly 98km ride (it’s an amazing course). The paddle and run are relatively flat and not as long time wise, but you still need to do some 2hr sessions for those sports.
The event starts with a 98km cycle from Mansfield to Eildon, then a 25km paddle from Eildon to Bonnie Doon, and finishes with a 21.1km run from Bonnie Doon back to Mansfield. The Lake will have plenty of water in it so we are set for a good clean event!
When entering everyone enters themselves so you tick the waiver and receive event newsletters.
In 2018, the event will start with the first wave at 7:30am. Presentations will happen behind the Mansfield Visitor Centre (where the event finishes) when the majority of participants have completed the course, we anticipate around 4:30pm. There is no parking allowed in the Mansfield Visitors Centre, you must park behind the Visitors Centre.
After this, everyone is welcome to gather for dinner at the Delatite Hotel in Mansfield where you can recount stories of your day out around the Lake!
